Patient confidentiality is a priority at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. In fact, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) specifically mandates our responsibility for safeguarding information concerning the identity, condition, care and treatment and any other information on all patients. For this reason, members of the media must be accompanied by a representative of the Department of Public Relations whenever on Hospital grounds. Reporters and photographers should contact the Department of Public Relations at 860-714-4190 prior to visiting the Hospital to request access.
