Outpatient Integrative Medicine

Acupuncture

Thread-like needles placed at specific sites may provide drug-free pain relief, reduce side effects from medications or treatments, and help balance the body's energy for relaxation and peace. Covered by some insurance companies. Check with your provider.

Energy Techniques

These gentle relaxation techniques can help you feel calmer and more comfortable. In modalities such as Therapeutic Touch, Energy Therapy, or CranioSacral Therapy, hands are place on or over areas of the body to give you some pain relief, help you rest, restore your energy, and help stimulate the body's own natural healing abilities.

Massage Therapy

Whether light touch, deep tissue, manual lymph drainage or oncology massage, bodywork can help prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; as well as promote health and wellness. Massage therapy can also improve functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. The touch of massage is an instinctive gesture of comfort and can also have calming emotional and physiological effects.

Mind-Body Techniques

These techniques (such as Guided Imagery or Hypnosis) use the imagination to help patients cope with stress and to activate the body's self-healing processes. By visualizing positive images and desired outcomes to situations, individuals may reduce pain, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. These suggestions can also help modify unhealthy or unwanted behaviors. Meditation is conscious relaxation, following the breath.
