(HARTFORD, Conn., Aug. 16, 2010.) - Amanda S. Ayers, M.D., of Marlborough, a colorectal surgeon, has joined the Medial Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Ayers received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She served as a resident and chief administrative resident in the University of Connecticut Integrated General Surgery Residency Program and as a fellow in colorectal surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Ayers is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. She is the co-author of four papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and the co-author of two chapters in peer-reviewed medical textbooks.
At Saint Francis, Dr. Ayers is practicing as a member of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of Greater Hartford, LLC.
