VISVANATHAN MURALI-DHARAN, M.D., JOINS SAINT FRANCIS

(HARTFORD, Conn., March 23, 2010) - Visvanathan Murali-Dharan, M.D., of West Hartford, has joined the Medical Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Murali-Dharan received his medical degree from The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. He served as an intern and senior house officer in internal medicine and surgery at Stanley Medical College and University, Madras, India.

Dr. Murali-Dharan received additional training in emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, rheumatology and gastroenterology as a senior house officer and registrar at hospitals in the United Kingdom. He completed the Yale University/Bridgeport Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program and served as a fellow in gastroenterology at Yale University/Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Murali-Dharan also served as an advanced endoscopy fellow and instructor in medicine in the Section of Digestive Diseases at Yale University.

A member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, Dr. Murali-Dharan is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and its subspecialty board on gastroenterology. He is a member the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine and the General Medical Council of the United Kingdom.
