Ron Margolis, M.D., Joins Saint Francis

(Hartford, Conn. June 6, 2011) – Ron Margolis, M.D., of Bloomfield, an ophthalmologist, has joined the Medical Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Margolis received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, New York. He served as an intern in internal medicine at Saint Vincent’s Hospital, New York; a chief resident in ophthalmology at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic; and a vitreoretinal fellow at the Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University and at the Manhattan Eye and Throat Hospital, New York.

Dr. Margolis specializes in the treatment of all medical and surgical retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal detachment. He is the author or co-author of more than 20 papers published in peer-reviewed professional journals and the author of six medical textbook chapters.

Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Margolis is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He is practicing at Saint Francis as a member of Retina Consultants, P.C.
