The Saint Francis library's collection of more than 13,000 books, 600 current journal subscriptions and 1,800 audiovisuals includes materials in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, management and allied health. Books are classified according to the National Library of Medicine system, while the journals, both current and back issues, are arranged alphabetically by title.
Many subscriptions at Saint Francis go back to 1966, with the oldest issues available on microfilm.
The Saint Francis library's software is in six formats: slides, audiocassettes, 1/2" VHS videocassettes, 3/4" U-Matic videocassettes, IBM computer assisted instructional diskettes and compact discs (CD-ROMs). The library subscribes to several audiocassette series. Equipment for use in the library is available in viewing rooms and several carrels.
Online Access to the Library Catalog
The Library maintains the Voyager Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), which provides access to all books, audiovisuals, journal titles and other materials contained in the collection of the Saint Francis and Mount Sinai Campus libraries and in the Health Learning Center.
