Free Mammograms/Community Education

Free Mammograms

Do you need a mammogram but feel you cannot afford one? Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is partnering with the Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (860-714-7151) to provide free mammograms to local women, regardless of financial status. Free mammogram screenings are available to women 40 years old or older, who have no insurance or who are under-insured, who have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months, and who can provide the name of a referring physician. Mammograms will be performed at the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at Saint Francis.

Community Education

Breast Imaging and Surgical Services at the Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at Saint Francis provides free breast health education sessions to interested community organizations. Each session provides information about how to perform a breast self-exam, how to recognize breast cancer early warning signs, how to recognize risk factors from your family history, and lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthy diet and exercising, that can help prevent breast cancer.
