(HARTFORD, Conn.) – Two new members were elected to the Board of Directors of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center during the hospital’s Annual Meeting, held today.
Eric Marziali, of Glastonbury, is the president and chief executive officer of United Abrasives, Inc., which has its North American headquarters in Willimantic. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Connecticut, Marziali also serves on the boards of Connecticut Bancshares, Savings Bank of Manchester and Allied Printing Company.
Howard W. Orr, of Suffield, is the president of KTI, Inc., East Windsor. He
holds a bachelor’s degree from Drury College, Springfield, Mo. He is a past president of the Suffield Visiting Nurse Association, a Saint Francis Care provider, and currently serves on the board of the Suffield Emergency Aid Association.
In addition, a new member was elected to the Board of Directors of Saint Francis Care, Inc., the hospital’s parent organization.
Geraud Darnis is the president of Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation. He joined United Technologies in 1983, serving with the Otis Elevator Co. in Paris, and has held his present position since 2001. Darnis holds a degree in finance from the Institut Superieur du Commerce, Paris. He is a member of the board and executive committee of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
