The Campaign for Saint Francis Care Goes Over the Top!
As Campaign Chairman Susan J. Sappington said at the outset of The Campaign for Saint Francis Care launched in 2002:
| For more than a century, Saint Francis has been a cornerstone of our community. We are a place where the ill and injured come for relief, hope and compassion, regardless of their ability to pay. Our concern is for the greater good, to guarantee one Saint Francis Care for all.� |
And, in turn, those we serve and the overall community chose to come together in support of The Campaign for Saint Francis Care to ensure that the hospital can continue its important work for years to come.
As of December 31, 2006, The Campaign exceeded its goal of $27.8 million with over $28 million from 2,284 contributors.
Their generous support has made possible a number of critical enhancements at Saint Francis:
- The Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of Connecticut
- Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories
- Digital Technology
- Electro Physiology Laboratory Replacement
- The Saint Francis/Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center
- Stage I Expansion for Outpatient Services
- Stage II Expansion and acquisition of CyberKnife Radiosurgery
- Facility Upgrades
- Renovation of Inpatient Cancer Unit and two Medical Teaching Units
- Patient Care Technology
- Computerized Physician Order/Entry Upgrade/Wireless Network Acquisition
The success of this campaign is a milestone in the history of the hospital and marks the beginning of a new Spirit of Giving� at Saint Francis. This new spirit and philosophy will provide the foundation for our next major project the new North Patient Care Tower which will include additional Private Patient Rooms, Operating Suites, expanded Emergency Department and Helicopter Pad.
