ADRC Opens New Facility on Mount Sinai Campus (January 20, 1999)

05/09/2002

(HARTFORD, Conn.) -- Alcohol and Drug Recovery Centers, Inc. (ADRC), a Saint Francis Care provider, has relocated its Detoxification Center and administrative offices to the Mount Sinai campus of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

The 35-patient detoxification facility and the administrative offices previously were located at 500 Vine St., Hartford. Within the next month, ADRC will also open a new 38-patient Intensive-Intermediate Center on the Mount Sinai campus.

The intensive program will provide chemical dependency patients with up to 30 days of education and counseling. The intermediate program is for residential stays of up to three months during which patients work in the community during the day.

Founded in 1973 as the Combined Hospitals Alcoholism Program, ADRC last year observed its 25th anniversary. More than 20,000 people have participated in its programs over the past quarter century.

ADRC, in 1997, affiliated with Saint Francis Care, the integrated regional health care delivery system established by Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
