What are the complications of the laparoscopic surgery?
As in all surgery, bleeding and infection are complications of the laparoscopic surgery and occur in a small percentage of patients. Specifically to the laparoscopic cholecystectomy, bile duct injury is one of the most severe complications. This rare event (less than 1/500) may necessitate conversion to an open procedure or require another surgery.
