Over the past 12 years, the Saint Francis Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) has developed congenial relationships with its contracted payors; relationships that continue to be enhanced by the PHO's committment to provide cost-effective, efficient, quality care to patients accessing the Saint Francis system through any one of the PHO's payor contracts.

The PHO Contract Committee, comprised of equal physician and hospital representation, is responsible for the review of potential and existing PHO contracts and making recommendations to the Board regarding the approval or rejection of contracts.  The Contract Committee is responsible for reviewing both financial (physician fee schedules, hospital rates) and non-financial (contractual language, carve-out arrangements, administrative policies & procedures) terms as well as contracting strategy development.  It has been instrumental in the development of tools used to model proposed contracts, utilizing the PHO's data warehouse to produce effective utilization and financial analyses for contract discussions.

The PHO's success in its contracting efforts is confirmed by each major PHO payor acknowledging that Saint Francis continues to be a top performing system in each of their respective networks.
