Saint Francis Care, Hartford Connecticut - ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY, ACCOMPLISHED PHYSICIANS, AMAZING RESULTS

Mission Statement
Back

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center recognizes cancer as a major national health problem. The Cancer Clinical Program is a commitment to excellence within a cancer center frame-work, incorporating cancer prevention, detection, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, teaching and research.

The Cancer Clinical Program will achieve the highest level accreditation in designated areas, such as the American College of Surgeons Cancer Program; will be the institution of choice for clinical trials; and will strive to be a preeminent cancer treatment center in central and northern Connecticut.

The goals of the Cancer Clinical Program are to return the patient to a normal productive role in society and to enhance the quality of life for the patient and his or her family through and beyond the cancer experience. These goals will be attained by addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families through a multi disciplinary approach to cancer treatment.

Through the application of scientific advances in the management of cancer and by direct participation in clinical research, Saint Francis will remain in the forefront in this program.

To ensure program effectiveness and to improve patient outcomes, Saint Francis will strengthen relationships with its physicians, other hospitals, government programs, insurers, philanthropic organizations and commercial payors.
