Back

General Visiting Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Only two visitors per patient are permitted in the patient room at one time. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the medical or nursing staff. Passes are required for all visitors and may be obtained at the information desks located in the lobby entrance. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the hospital. No cellular phones are permitted. Visitors must check with a nurse before entering a room marked with a Special Precautions sign. Patients may receive visits from children of any age; except as noted below.

Adult Intensive Care (General Visiting Information)

Two members of the patient's immediate family (spouse, significant other, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchildren) may visit for five minutes every hour in the medical intensive care unit and surgical intensive care unit.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit a patient in the critical care area due to the acuity of the patients but may accompany parents to the waiting area.

Specific, detailed instructions will be given to the patient’s immediate family by the nursing staff.

Maternity Visiting Hours

Fathers, "banded" significant others, grandparents and infants’ siblings are entitled to unlimited visitation. Other visitors are limited to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Children under the age of 8, other than siblings, are not permitted to visit. Only two visitors are permitted at bedside in Labor and Delivery. One visitor is allowed if the patient is having a C-Section.

Neonatal Intensive Care

Parents and grandparents accompanied by a parent, may visit anytime, except during nursing shift changes, which take place during the hours of 7 to 7:30 a.m., 3 to 3:30 p.m. and 11 to 11:30 p.m. No visitors will be allowed while special procedures are in progress. A maximum of three visitors are permitted at bedside.

Other adult visitors, accompanied by a parent, may visit between the hours of noon to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Limit two at bedside.

Siblings 4 years and older, who have completed infection screening, are allowed to visit twice weekly by appointment only, during the hours of noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

During winter cold and flu season, visiting may be limited to parents and grandparents only.

Pediatrics

Parents may visit at any time. Parents are welcome to stay overnight; a cot will be provided. Healthy siblings over the age of 2 may visit if accompanied by an adult. Other visitors are limited to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Children under the age of 8 other than siblings are not permitted to visit.

Adult Psychiatry

Visiting is limited to three visitors at any one time. Visiting hours are 2 to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays, and 4 to 8 p.m. during the week. All visitors must sign in at the nurse's station before entering a patient's room.

Children younger than 6 years of age require special permission to visit the unit. Patients planning to have young children as visitors should make arrangements at the nurse's station. If the recommended visiting times are inconvenient, special arrangements can be made.

Child Psychiatry

Upon admission, the patient and the patient's family should provide a list of visitors and review it with his/her therapist. Only visitors on the list will be admitted.

Due to the structure of the program schedule, recommended visiting hours are as follows: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. daily, with the exception of Wednesday evening, visiting 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., after Family Night. Generally, two visitors are permitted to visit the unit at any one time. All visitors must sign in at the nurse's station before entering a patient's room.
