The IRB conducts periodic audits of protocols to ensure compliance with the protocol, applicable federal, state and local regulations, and IRB policies and guidelines. The protocols are randomly selected by the IRB. Results of audits are summarized in a letter to the Principal Investigator and reported to IRB members. Investigators are required to address deficiencies, as requested by the IRB.
