(HARTFORD, Conn.) The Campaign for Saint Francis Care, Building Today for the Miracles of Tomorrow,� has drawn to a successful conclusion, exceeding its goal of $27.8 million.
The five-year capital campaign generated more than $28 million in pledges from nearly 2,300 donors. Funds from the campaign have supported the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of Connecticut, the Saint Francis/Mount Sinai Regional Cancer Center, facility updates, patient care technology and an upgrade of the Hospitals computerized physician order entry system.
Not only will the success of this campaign help to keep Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center at the forefront of healthcare delivery in Connecticut and beyond, but it will serve as an inspiration for future generations to follow this remarkable leadership,� said Susan Sappington, Campaign Chairman.
Among the specific projects that the just-concluded campaign funded are the renovation of two medical teaching units, the expansion of the Cancer Centers outpatient treatment facilities and the acquisition of the CyberKnife� Stereotatic Radiosurgery System, which was the first of its kind in Connecticut.
The success of this campaign is a milestone in the history of Saint Francis and marks the beginning of a new �Spirit of Giving at the Hospital that will provide a solid foundation for the future,� said Christopher Dadlez, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
