(HARTFORD, Conn.) Iacob Marcovici, M.D., of Farmington, has joined the Medical and Dental Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
A graduate of the Medical School of The Hebrew University and Hadassah, Jerusalem, Dr. Marcovici completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois, Chicago. A diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, he is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Medicine; Coelho-Schauta Club, Roubaix, France; Greater Hartford Obstetrics/Gynecology Medical Society; American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine; International Society of CosmetoGynecology and American Society of LipoSuction Surgery.
Dr. Marcovici most recently served as Director of the Bristol Hospital Womens Health Center. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, Ohio and was for many years an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Marcovici holds appointments as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Marcovici has written articles for many scientific publications, peer-review journals and, has presented at national and international meetings.
He has a special clinical interest in womens health issues including: urinary incontinence, infertility and tubal reversal, natural family planning, menopause, osteoporosis and pelvic pain, treatment with lasers and advanced laparoscopic surgery; advanced hysteroscopic procedures, offers alternatives to hysterectomies and provides care for low-and-high risk obstetrics.
Dr. Marcovici is also offering aesthetic medical procedures such as Liposuction/Liposculpture and Fat transfer under local anesthesia, Restylane and other dermal fillers, Botox, Mesotherapy and Lopodissolve, Hair and Vein removal, Microdermabrasions.
Dr. Marcovici is fluent in French, Romanian and Hebrew. He is currently welcoming new patients at his practice, Advanced Ob/Gyn Care, L.L.C., located at 35 Nod Road, Avon.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
