SAINT FRANCIS NAMES PROFESSIONAL NURSING SERVICES DIRECTOR Erica Siddell, Ph.D., R.N., To Fill Position

(HARTFORD, Conn.) - Erica Siddell, Ph.D., R.N., of Manchester, has been named Director of Professional Nursing Services at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Siddell received her doctorate in parent-child nursing from the University of Texas School of Nursing, Austin. She received a masters degree in nursing administration and a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Connecticut.
In her new position Siddell provides leadership to the Hospitals Center for Clinical Excellence, which coordinates clinical experiences for nursing students in programs affiliated with Saint Francis; orientation and continuing education programs for Saint Francis nurses; and consultation to bedside nurses by the Centers clinical nurse specialists. Siddell also provides oversight to the Hospitals Share Governance program and application for Magnet accreditation.
Siddell recently held a similar position at Childrens Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She also previously worked at Saint Francis as a Clinical Nursing Supervisor and a Nurse Manager.
Siddell is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society and the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
