SAINT FRANCIS NAMES CJRI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Mary Ann Camilleri, R.N., J.D., To Fill Position

(HARTFORD, Conn.) -- Mary Ann Camilleri, R.N., J.D., of Cheshire, has been named Executive Director of the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Camilleri had been with the Hospital for Special Care, New Britain, for 16 years, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She previously had been associated with the New Haven law firm of Wiggin and Dana and held nursing positions at the University of Connecticut Health Center/John Dempsey Hospital.
Camilleri holds a bachelors degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing and a juris doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Connecticut Women in Healthcare Management, Connecticut Nurses Association, Association of Nurse Attorneys, American Health Lawyers Association, Connecticut Bar Association and Sigma Theta Tau International the National Honor Society for Nurses. She serves as a member of the board of directors of the United Way of New Britain-Berlin.
In her new position, Camilleri is responsible for overall operations of the recently established Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute at Saint Francis, a Hospital within a Hospital� that is dedicated to joint replacement surgery.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
