MIRACLES XVIII A SELL-OUT! More Than 1,400 Attend Gala
09/25/2007
(HARTFORD, Conn.) A sell-out crowd of more than 1,400 guests turned out tonight at the Connecticut Convention Center for MIRACLES XVIII, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Centers annual black-tie gala. The event raised over $850,000 for Saint Francis new Emergency Department.
Guests danced to the music of the Landerman Society Orchestra and Yellow Brick Road. The event also featured a silent auction of more than 150 collectable wines along with five exclusive wine dinners.
MIRACLES was first held in 1990 to celebrate the just-completed affiliation of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital. Over the years, the gala has grown to a signature event on Hartfords fall social calendar, over the years raising nearly $10 million for Hospital and community projects.
Saint Francis new Emergency Department will be located in the Hospitals planned John T. OConnell Tower. The new Emergency Department, which will encompass 50,000 square feet, will double the available space in Saint Francis current Emergency Department. Groundbreaking for the Tower, to be located on the Ashley Street side of Saint Francis main campus, is expected this fall.
