There are telephones in all patient rooms, except in the Critical Care and Psychiatric Units. If you need telephone assistance, dial "0." Patients may receive calls between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
The Telecommunications Department has several devices available for patients or their families who have disabilities. If you notify your admitting representative before your admission, every attempt will be made to install the appropriate device before your stay begins. To request any of the following equipment or services after admission, please ring for your nurse. He or she will arrange for the installation of the device for you.
- Amplified telephone handset
- Telephones equipped with volume controls for speaking and listening
- Telephones equipped with lighted ringers
- Translator services available for those who communicate in American Sign Language.
- Telephones with large number key pads
