CARL GJERTSON, M.D., JOINS SAINT FRANCIS Specialist in Urology

(HARTFORD, Conn.) Carl Gjertson, M.D., of Hartford, has joined the Medical and Dental Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Gjertson, a urologist, is trained in using the da Vinci� S�� Surgical System, a robotic technology which enables surgeons to perform minimally invasive prostatectomies, hysterectomies and heart surgery.
Earning his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, Dr. Gjertson completed his surgical internship and served as a resident in the Department of Urology at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He also served as a fellow in laparoscopy and endourology at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
Dr. Gjertson is board eligible in urology, and is a member of the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Endourological Society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Urological Association.
Dr. Gjertson is currently welcoming new patients at his practice, Woodland Physician Associates, Inc., located at 1000 Asylum Avenue, Hartford.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
