SAINT FRANCIS NAMES DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT
Hunchu Kwak, J.D., To Fill Position

(HARTFORD, Conn.) Hunchu Chuey� Kwak, J.D., of West Hartford, has been named Director of Risk Management at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

In his new position, Kwak will be responsible for managing insurance and medical malpractice claims and serve as a liaison to federal and state regulators and the Joint Commission.

Kwak most recently served as Director of Patient Care Regulation at the Connecticut Hospital Association. He previously was an associate in the law firms Drubner, Hartley & OConnor, Waterbury; and Morrison, Mahoney & Miller, Hartford.

He received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, Kwak served as a Captain in the United States Army from 1985 to 1991 and served in the first Gulf War. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Connecticut Society of Healthcare Risk Managers and American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers.

Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
