(HARTFORD, Conn.) Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, in partnership with the Hartford FoxForce, will present the fourth annual Women of Achievement in Sports Awards on Tuesday, July 18.
The awards this year will honor three women who have exhibited excellence in golf, field hockey and tennis. They will be presented during the intermission of the FoxForces home tennis match against the Boston Lobsters at Apple Arena on the grounds of Blue Fox Run Golf Course. The match begins at 6:45 p.m., followed by the award presentation at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Joining the distinguished list of past recipients of the awards will be: Heather Daly-Donofrio, President of the LPGA Player Executive Committee; Amanda Walton, a member of the Yale University field hockey coaching staff; and Anne Worcester, Tournament Director of Pilot Pen Tennis and Chief Marketing Officer for Market New Haven, Incorporated.
Recipients are recognized for their outstanding personal achievements in the sports world and for the leadership they have shown in introducing other women to the benefits of athletic pursuits.
Presenting the awards will be Lisa Wilson Foley, co-owner of the Hartford FoxForce, and a past recipient of a Woman of Achievement Award. Additional past recipients have included: Sasha Cohen, Linda Cohn, Dina Falco, Liz Janangelo, Pat Meiser-McKnett, Megan Pattyson, Jennifer Rizzotti, Meghann Shaughnessy, Beth Shulger and Suzy Whaley.
