Research Opportunities

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center all Faculty and Residents are active in Scholarship. Scholarship includes peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research in peer-reviewed journals, review articles, chapters in textbooks, publication and/or presentation of case reports, clinical series at local, regional or national professional and scientific society meetings.
Faculty and residents also regularly participate in clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs and research conferences. These activities promote the spirit of inquiry and scholarship.
Research in the clinical aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology is conducted on an ongoing basis within the department. Residents are required to participate in a research project, which they chose in their PGY-1 year and complete by their PGY-4 year. Each resident has a mentor to work with on their project. All research projects involving human subjects must be approved by the Institutional Review Board at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center before the research is begun.
