Physician Assistant Students from Yale University have similar assignments included in a four week schedule.
An elective in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrical Ultrasound is offered to senior Medical Students. Students also have the opportunity to do research projects which are often accomplished during their rotations.
- Residents play a major role in the education of these students. A chief resident holds primary responsibility for student's schedules, orientation and supervision.
- A full time faculty member is assigned as Medical Student Mentor.
The student's clinical teaching is accomplished by members of the Faculty and Resident Staff during rounds, informal seminars, scheduled lectures, ambulatory care center, operating room as well as in the Labor and Delivery Suite. Residents participate extensively in the evaluation of the students assigned to the department and are represented during the exit interview which is conducted for each student.
